News

1) TODAY is our inaugural Family and Friends Day at FWA! We extend a warm welcome to all of our guests.

2) J.A.M. Basketball ministry will begin soon. We need brothers to volunteer their time to ensure success of ministry. There will be a sign up sheet in narthex. Contact: Tony Riles.

3) Corporate Prayer Time - CP Time. Beginning tonite, we want every member to pray for the church at 7:14 a.m. And 7:14 p.m. In the fashion of
2 Chronicles 7:14. We will do this for 40 days.
The Standing in the Gap Prayer Ministry approves of this message.

4) Planning meetings for VBS will take place real soon. We need maximum participation for this year's VBS which takes place at the end of July. This year, we want to be intentional in bringing in kids from the neighborhood. VBS is an educational and evangelism event. If you want to volunteer, please see Min. Lynda Reese.

5) VBS Volunteers Needed!
This year our theme is “Walk It Out, Together in the Way of Jesus” We are in need of teachers, cooks, arts & crafts, music & movement or anyone with a willingness to serve. Please see Min. Lynda Reese.

6) We will resume Knowledge Night on Wednesday, June 11. Please prepare by reading Chapter 13, “Find Your Mission.”

7) The Taste of FWA will be merged with the Back to School Block Party this year. Therefore, it will not take place on the third Saturday in June this year. Please mark your calendars for the third Saturday in August.

8) Continue to pray for the White and Henderson families, Nora Anderson, Shirley Stepp, and Dorothy Farmer.

9) Our Food Pantry distributes food on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month. On the 4th Wednesday a produce truck also distributes fresh produce. Please see Bro. Farmer if you would like additional information or to volunteer.

10) REMINDER
The June Church Council meeting has been changed to June 14. Please mark this date on your calendar!!! We will continue our discussion of "Enemies of Church Growth".

11) MEETINGS AT CHURCH. Due to the wickedly high price of gas, I encourage every committee and ministry to consider conferencing via the telephone rather than planning face-to-face meetings at the church. 12) Applications for the Beatrice Carolyn Kelly DeLoatch Scholarship Book fund are available today for graduating high school seniors only. Please see Juanita Burrell or Alma Pride to obtain an application. The ABSOLUTE deadline for submittal of an application package is June 29, 2008.

14) The Fellowship Meal Ministry is on hiatus for the Summer, our next meal will be in September.

15) Committee on Finance will meet on Tuesday, June 10th at 6:00 p.m.

16) The Senior Ministry is back on the move. During our June meeting Rev. Wanda Parker of Ingalls Home Care will conduct a volunteer training workshop. Our June meeting will be on June 7 at 11 a.m.
17) Knowledge Night is studying the book by Rev. John Ortberg entitled, When the Game is Over, It all Goes Back in the Box. The book can be purchased at Family Christian Bookstore for $18 or purchased on Amazon.com for as low as $10 used. This study will definitely improve your walk with God.

18) Standing in the GAP (God Answers Prayers) - Prayer Ministry
If you are standing in the need of prayer for yourself, family, friends etc. Please fill out a Prayer request card and place it in one of the canvas GAP bags, or you can give your prayer requests to Dr. Sam Kormoi, Stacy Cantrell or Cheryle Banks.
We are available to pray for you and with you!

19) Baptism Candidates If you have not been baptized, please contact the church office. Baptism ceremonies will take place on the 2nd Sunday of each month.

Meetings & Rehearsals

The Anointed Women of Christ meet on the 1st & 4th Saturday of the month the next meeting will be June 7 & 21 at 10 a.m.

Our Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts meet on Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
Brownies (Troop 341) are 1st through 3rd grade, Juniors (Troop 336) are 4th through 6th grade. An adult must register the girl, the registration fee is $10 a year.

The next Church Council meeting will be Saturday June 14 at 10:00 a.m.

The Daughters of Imani meet every Saturday from 10 a.m. To noon. This ministry is for girls aged 10-14.

Men’s Friday Night Prayer Hour every Friday 6-7 p.m.

Men's Mentor Group 2nd & 4th Monday Night at 7 p.m. The next meeting will be on June 9.

Senior Ministry Events The Senior's Ministry is on the move. We encourage everyone 50 & older to come to our meeting & luncheon every 1st Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Our Bible Study is held every Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Contact Fannie Taylor for more information.

The Trustees will meet on the second Saturday of the month at 3 pm. The next meeting will be June 14th.

The United Methodist Men will meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. The next meeting will be on June 21.

The United Methodist Women meet every fourth Sunday after morning service. The next meeting will be June 22.

The Young Lions meet on the 2nd & 4th Mondays from 7-8:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on June 9.

Choir Rehearsal for the Inspirational Choir will be on Tuesday. Adults: 7-9 p.m.

Rehearsal for the Angelic Angels are on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays 6:15-7:00 p.m. The next rehearsal will be on May 22.

The Blended Voices meet the Tuesday before each First Sunday from 6-7 p.m. The next rehearsal will be on July 1 .

The Glorified Praise Dancers rehearse on Saturdays.
